Shroom for Improvement by Jemma Croft

This book was absolutely fucking delightful. I was in love in the first twenty pages, and I only loved it more and more as I read. Sonny, the sweet, earnest, excitable magpie fae with an affinity for pocketing other people's shinies and an unstoppable passion for soil health was such an adorable character, I wanted to explode. He spent 3 years trying to garner the attention of the biggest introvert grump alive, and when he finally got his chance to get closer to Claude, he didn't waste any time in trying to befriend him. And Claude was SO weak for that man and his chipped, painted nails. He didn't stand a chance, even if he hadn't had a magic house pushing them together. Every character and every bit of plot in this book was just plain fun to read, and even though I spent about half the book in a never-ending face palm watching these two idiot sweethearts tiptoe around their feelings and ignore any and all signs that pointed them to the answer to the big problem that brought them together in the first place, I loved every second of this book.
