I’ll be honest I had really high hopes for this one since I really love Be More Chill so much. I really liked the way the novel started out and how it brought to light what seemed to be a very real telling of what someone’s life is like living with severe depression. I didn’t really like when he went to the hospital. I know that sounds like the dumbest thing since that is the whole main plot and don’t get me wrong I am so glad he didn’t actually end up unaliving himself, but I felt like towards the end I knew what was going to happen and I was just reading to finish it. I’m sure it is a very insightful look into what mental hospitals are actually like, but for me it was average. There was also some mild transphobia which might have been the cause.
Graphic: Suicide and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Transphobia
Minor: Chronic illness
