Nathan Unwrapped by Susan Saxx

4.0

Since the blurb is available to read, I’ll get right to the review. First, the characters. Og grabbed me right from the start. I liked his gruffness, the way he held himself, and just basically everything about him. He’s a great guy. As for Nathan, he did begin to grow on me. I can’t say I liked him right away, but the more I read, the more I began to have respect for him. He was trying hard to help others, and this was very nice to see in a character.

As for the secondary characters, I found they interfered with the romance instead of doing its job of fleshing out the story, especially the unexpected character found in the barn who also gets a POV. It just wasn’t for me.

The writing is topnotch. Visceral responses are done so freshly that I had to stop and reread them again because I loved the author’s cleverness. The plot moves at a tight pace. The setting is vividly described. And the dialogue is sharp and witty.

The chemistry between Nathan and Og, their bickering and their bantering is believable. The author did a great job with this.

The author is a solid storyteller and a topnotch writer. It’s a great start for her new venture in writing m/m romance.
