The Nurses: A Year of Secrets, Drama, and Miracles with the Heroes of the Hospital by Alexandra Robbins

4.0

This is an in-depth and insightful look at what nurses' lives are really like - and I really recommend it, especially to doctors and future doctors, but also to anyone who may be in the care of a nurse at some point - so, basically, everyone. The book is really eye-opening about how much nurses put up with in trying to deliver quality patient care, and that they remain so compassionate while performing under enormous pressure from hospitals, patients, doctors, and each other is really amazing. I know a lot of awesome nurses and future nurses, but it's not them who necessarily need to read this book and absorb what it has to teach - it's the rest of us.
