Where There's a Will by Jessie Walker

Did not finish book. Stopped at 63%.
- flashbacks unrealistic (age 11 sounded like 14-16)
- I thought that both characters had no development, still revolving around the same topics, felt like they stuck
-reviews on GR did kinda promise me that this will go on like this and I don’t feel it

Current rating revolves around 2.5

I want to add, that I can’t understand why an author puts TW at the END of a book. If ppl want to buy it (not all ppl have KU) they have to visit the author website first to check for TW bc the „look inside“ would tell them nothing…
Way to build a hurdle for readers

Triggers: Grief, mental illness (including suicidal thoughts/behaviors, and on-page mentions of a death by suicide), substance abuse/addiction, homophobia/homomisia (internalized and externalized), slurs/offensive language, and trauma as a result of child abuse (physical/verbal/psychological)* Please note that while these issues are handled as delicately as possible, don’t anticipate anything to be watered down. This book is very character driven. Not everyone deals with trauma, mental abuse, and addiction the same way. This is how my characters deal with theirs. This book is intended for readers 18 years and older. *The abuse is in the past, but it is discussed at length at times present-day, or shown vaguely in flashbacks.
