I have to say, I was nervous going into this book, and this book alone is what made me iffy about reading the series because I heard so many mixed reviews. People either loved it or hated it and the last book that had similar reviews, I ended up disliking it, so I was nervous about disliking this one, however, I ended up LOVING this book.
Iron Flame leaves off exactly where Fourth Wing left off and there is a lot of info thrown out way. Not in an overwhelming sense, but in a "hey pay attention, this might be relevant later" kind of way.
I will say that I was annoyed with Violent a lot, mostly because of the lack of communication, the lack of understanding of boundaries, and her just being a hypocrite at times, HOWEVER, some of her "needs" also made sense. So I understood her side of things, but just wish she could understand other people's sides too.
There's also a lot more spice compared to the last book - hence why I put "very spicy" in the photo. Anyway, some of the spice did feel irrelevant to the overall plot, but dang they were steamy
