The Blessing Way by Tony Hillerman

4.0

I think I've read most of Tony Hillerman's books, but it was a long time ago. He could not write them fast enough for me when he was alive, they were so mesmerizing. Since we do a lot of road trips now, we're going to enjoy starting from the beginning and going through each one again. This time listening to the audio book versions.

The Blessing Way is the first book in the Joe Leaphorn & Jim Chee series, although Jim Chee does not yet appear in this one. Instead, Leaphorn's friend Professor Bergen McKee plays a significant role in what turns out to be an action packed murder mystery.

I've always loved Hillerman's descriptive writing, which puts you right there in the red rock canyons and blowing sands of the desert southwest.
