"You can justify anything if you do it poetically enough."

man.

For a person like me, who is both enamored and sometimes infatuated (hehe) with the art of theatre and literature, this book is something perfect. Not even speaking about the plot, but the way it was written – at some moments close to the ground, but most of the time with words flying around you freely yet neatly choreographed, getting inside your head and heart and making you wanna go on a theater stage and scream. The way both styles combined and danced together to tell us the story was truly beautiful, and honestly I am a bit scared how alive this book felt at times.

If we're talking about the plot alone and its ending I admit I could be happier, but the way everything resolved was fitting and you know, it's not like I hate it...... I just don't like it at all and it's terrible.

Kidding, I just had to use this quote.

The plot is engaging and for most of the time I just couldn't put this book down, I even considered reading this all night until morning. I also really liked the foreshadowing that appeared sometimes, it made predicting some things easier but not too easy, so I could imagine more or less how some things went but until last pages I didn't have the full image. And I actually liked the ending, even if (like I said) I could be happier.

Characters are great, there wasn't a lot of them that I can say I actually liked but they made me feel emotions, and that's what counts. The best way to try to get to know them is just by reading the book, cause they're all quite complicated and messy in their little theatre world, so I just wanna say that we stan Filippa she's the best, and I hate Richard with burning passion. Also some characters had such an amazing chemistry GOD. (Yes I'm talking mostly about James and Oliver cause those bastards made me feel so many things I hate them for it. Also Oliver really do be as oblivious as the rest of them claims).

"Actors are by nature volatile—alchemic creatures composed of incediary elements, emotion and ego and envy. Heat them up, stir them together, and sometimes you get gold. Sometimes disaster."

And sometimes both, with this book as a perfect example.

hell. what an experience.
