The Teacher by Freida McFadden
3.0
If you read this book, look up triggers. Though there isn't anything written in explicit detail, it can definitely still be triggering what this book is about.
This book didn't feel like a thriller at all through 70% of this book. It was more like a gross, predatory tale between a teacher and student. It was hard to stomach most of the time.
I hated literally everyone in this book. And I guessed almost every plot twist except the one on the very last page.
Spoilers ahead!!!!!

Due to Eve and Nate's age difference, I did assume that he may have preyed on her at some point. So, him being her teacher when they met was not a stretch.
However, the plot twist wasn't plotting. So EVE, as it turns out, was also a predator with a minor Jay (Addie's friend). Despite her giving Nate down the road about it and also reading her inner monolog about how inappropriate it was. Even going as far as turning him in. So how did it make sense she didn't think it was hypocritical of herself to do the same thing. That seems like a plot hole.
Another plot hole....Jay somehow had time to drive an hour both ways TWICE to pick up Eve and Addie in the same night. How did he have time for that? And how did he not piece everything together because of that? Plot hole.
The whole story was gross, and that ending was horrible. Nate was the only one who got what he deserved, unfortunately.
I read the story, and it kept my attention, but I hated it. So, I'm giving it 2.5
