Genuinely, this is the best mystery I've read in a long time. The pacing was perfect and deliberate. The characters were interesting, and the mystery unfolded in slow fascinating pieces.
A lot of mystery novels have a half dozen twists that come out of nowhere, but in God of the Woods every clue is present and makes sense once you have the reveal. I didn't guess the mystery at all but once it was on display I could see all the bread crumbs that let to it.
I highly recommend this novel.
