I genuinely think this is Kresley’s best series. She writes so well and even rereading it, I’m struck by it. This series is so gory and some of the descriptions genuinely make me queasy. To me that’s proof of how good the book is - I’m so entranced by it that I’m nauseous. Kresley reminds me of why I love reading. I wish this series was as popular as ACOTAR.

Side note: on the reread I definitely think evie is dumb at times and jack and aric have awful qualities too, but I’m not ANNOYED by them like I get with other books and characters (side eye JLA and poppy). Kresley writes them well enough to nuance them, making their bad traits just as interesting as their good ones.
