The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

5.0

Such a wonderful read; I loved it from beginning to end!

I'd read some reviews that were disappointed by the number of characters to keep track of, but I loved that aspect of this book. Each one of the characters felt like a real person with a past and each one felt unique. The dialogue was so well written; I even laughed out loud many times.

The ending of this book was satisfying. Every loose end was tied and every character got exactly what they deserved. In some cases what they deserved was death (for better or for worse) and in other cases it was to get away with murder. But I won't spoil anything! It is so fun watching how Osman expertly reveals the truth throughout this book. And there are enough plotlines that even if you think you've solved one, there are 3 more coming up behind it.

So fun, so heart-warming, so true to life itself! Highly recommend if you're into mysteries and don't mind a big cast of characters. Although, I will say, it does get quite real and quite sad at times, so if reading about nursing homes, dementia, or suicide will bring up too much pain for you, then you might want to skip it.
