After reading so many 5* reviews I wanted to love this but it never really hit the mark for me.

Lily’s character was great and I enjoyed the way she was written and the fact that she’s got some grey morality going on.

Theo didn’t interest me in the slightest and I just found him boring as hell. I need some moral ambiguity in my leading men and he’s just as straight down the line as it comes.

Whilst the spice was spicy, I actually didn’t love that this was essentially a relationship that nobody had to work on because ~fated~. I thought that the opportunity to create any sort of build up to a relationship was kind of brushed aside because 1 party knew they were Amari and the other just had Insta-feelings for the same reason. I could see that there was an attempt to show that Lily was building a relationship with Theo but the way that she was just in love with him because of their bond felt too convenient to me.

I’m not usually a fated mates hater, but this just didn’t do it for me. I’ll probably read the next in series but I’m not rushing it to the top of a TBR.
