I had an incredibly difficult time believing that Grant and Helen want to kiss one another let alone have sex and fall in love. This book should have been about two deeply flawed people who have a very complicated history with one another who eventually come to understand the other and maybe become friends. 

I thought Kuang did a good job at not making this book feel like a TV show or movie script. She’s also very talented at writing nuance into characters which I throughly enjoyed. 

If she writes another novel I will read it.
