A curious librarian. The mysterious Duke she works for. With a broody winged companion and a book that could change the world.

The Call of Chaos is an absolute must read for gothic fantasy lovers! It is deeply atmospheric, blending gothic and mysterious spooky vibes in such a way that you cannot stop reading.

‘This had to be it. The book was here. Something deep within her felt its presence. Calling to her, beckoning her.’

The author absolutely immersed me in this book with its vibes and made me fall in LOVE with the characters. Rue is a naturally curious woman which fits her perfectly as a librarian. But there’s so much more to her. She’s also a total badass, independent woman.
Her struggles with anxiety on this journey she’s thrust into is relatable, but also heartwarming in a way when Corvus meets her and immediately does little unconscious acts to soothe her. As if I couldn’t already love the two of them more with their banter and Rue’s take-no-shit attitude, those moments softened my heart even more.

‘This brute of a man decided to show up in her home and practically accused her of being the catalyst for the potential end of the world. Even if it was partially true, how rude!’

And Corvus??! Ugh, I absolutely adore that broody bird!! I fell in love with him the very moment we first meet him and stayed in love with him even after finishing the book.

‘This close, she could see long, thick lashes that rimmed his eyes. As much as he pissed her off, he was indeed gorgeous… and somehow, that just made her more mad.’

Rue and Corvus’ interactions had me giggling and kicking my feet like a school girl 🤭 I needed MORE of them!

“You know if you keep making that face, you’re going to get wrinkles,” Corvus said in a very matter-of-fact tone.
“Are you always this charming, Corvus?”
“Just for you, sunshine.”

Have I convinced you to read this book yet? No? Okay, well what if I told you there are two other lovable birdmen, Sabrien and Oliver.

“Maybe we could try and sneak in again and have some of your raven friends scope the place out?” Rue offered.
“Oh, I like this one. She’s got the right idea.” He gave her another little wink. Rue knew she shouldn’t inflate his ego anymore, but she couldn’t help it. Anything to get a rise out of Corvus.
“Thank you, Sabrien. Finally, someone appreciates me.”

I could go on forever about how much I LOVED this book (seriously, it’s in my Top 10 Reads easily), but really you should just read it and see for yourself. I’m telling you, you won’t regret it!
