i loved this book! i read it in one sitting and instantly fell in love with the characters. there are so many parallels from the first book as well as encounters with mateo and rufus as children. some scenes were a little hard to read and a bit cringe, but other than that it was amazing. so many plot twists and the ending was heartbreaking but heartwarming.
Moderate: Chronic illness, Death, Gun violence, Homophobia, and Religious bigotry
Minor: Grief
this is the prequel to They Both Die at the End, so read that first!
