I really enjoyed the writing but the content was utterly reprehensible. I know that's Houellebecq's whole thing but there are only so many times I can ask myself if the author really means it or not. I think Houellebecq is actually a bigot and quite proud of it based on this novela alone.

The story is fairly unremarkable until, surprise, there's a pedophile incest cult! What happens to them? Who fucking cares, the book never tells you. It just ends.
