The Chasing Paper Caper by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
3.0
I was given an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Having watched the Netflix series before going into this graphic novel, I knew exactly what to expect of this story. It was a fun jump around the world as Carmen and her friends tried to stop Vile from stealing the Magna Carta. I felt the episode was broken down rather nicely to create a story that doesn’t feel lacking, though it doesn’t include everything from the show.
I appreciated the short introduction to characters, making it easy for reading these out of order of publication. Another good note is the short descriptors that make it easy to follow along with what is left out of the illustrations.
The copy I read was incomplete, only some pictures appearing done. Though, I have read the other graphic novels in this series and always enjoy the unique art style and color shading. I’ll look forward to seeing the finished product and its dazzling panel art after publication, and continue to recommend Carmen Sandiego to others.
