The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

4.0

The most cozy scifi book that has ever existed. This is great if you like a scifi vibe, and the romanticism of that kind of star trek, different species living together, found family vibe. If a major plot or good villain is important to you, this probably isn't for you. Also, I think the book could have gone a little more in-depth with one or two of the alien cultures and investigated the moral relativism inherent there
Spoiler(and also of a certain signficant choice a character makes at the end!)
, but it ends up being more of a surface look into a many different cultures (which I think was a purposeful choice to maintain the cozy vibe). The writing style was also very easy to read, and Chambers is skilled at creating metaphors that make very strange experiences very understandable, which was great and very helpful for scifi. Altogether a great pick if you're looking for cozy vibes!
