Tempting Fate by Kerrigan Byrne

I know I say this every time but I do love Kerrigan Byrne's books and when I open one up, I know I'm going to be able to get lost in her story.

Tempting Fate is the fourth installment of the Goode Girls series and our main characters are Gabriel and Felicity. Gabriel is the disfigured older brother to Raphael and Felicity is the twin to Mercy Goode from the last book in the series. While I enjoyed this story, I was slightly underwhelmed by the characters and I don't know if that's because Mercy and Raphael were so interesting and engaging while these two were more shy / quiet and reserved but there was something about these two that didn't wow me. With that said, I was cheering for them the whole way.

I loved that Felicity didn't care about Gabriel's roughness and by keeping his secret, Gabriel risks having any sort of relationship with her but when things come to a head, it's Raphael and Felicity who help them to see what they could have.

While this wasn't my favorite of the series, I did enjoy it. I appreciate that Byrne continues to bring the other characters into her stories with the main characters so we can see what is going on with them. If you're looking for a new historical romance, consider picking this one up and don't forget the other books of the series.
