The House In The Pines by Ana Reyes

mysterious slow-paced

4.0

This is more literary than thriller. But I like literary fiction! So I liked this. The average fan of traditional thrillers might not like it as much. It’s kind of quiet and slow, not really eerie and no heart racing moments.

There was more development of the MC’s relationships than I see in most thrillers and I appreciated that. I also liked that Reyes took on the topic of addiction as a response to trauma. Finally, I liked the details about her familial history and culture.
