Heroes: Mortals and Monsters, Quests and Adventures by Stephen Fry

5.0

Usually I find Greek mythology a bit tedious. These are some of the greatest tales ever told, but often all the excitement is wrung out of them by dry, earnest literal translations. Fry puts all the action, humour, and the important scholarly stuff back in, but in their rightful places. These are stories to be enjoyed by everyone, and not just by scholars of classics, and this book makes them enjoyable again.
