Wow, just wow!
Let me begin by saying that despite this being an ARC, I have to be honest: I didn't like the opening scene of the book. It was too on-the-nose and disjointed.
I admit that I wondered if this would be a DNF, but then... Julia really does know how to write an engaging and wonderful story!
I was completely enthralled by Shira's story and I couldn't wait to find out what was going on with her late husband.
Roman was way too harsh in the beginning, unnecessarily cruel, and not particularly interesting. I loved right away his relationship with his brothers, but that was it.
Then he and Shira started growing closer thanks to the surprise pregnancy and he started truly shining! His attentiveness to her needs, and the extreme care he put into everything he did for her... amazing!
Shira was a wonderful FMC, with so many layers, one more wonderful than the last.
I want to thank Valentine PR for sending me the ARC!
