The vibe of this book is "Mike Flanagan show," which is a good thing for me. I like that it surprised me, especially since I thought I had it figured out (spoiler: I did not).

There are themes of mental illness, the cycle of abuse, and surviving. It's both creepy AF and deep, and it's a really good haunted house story. The pacing is good throughout, and the climax is pretty cinematic.

I really liked it! I'm keeping it to reread down the road.
