I love queens, princesses and royalty of centuries past, so this book was right up my alley. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the story telling, I also loved that the stories span several monarchs and of course include mistresses, who just lived a wild life honestly. The French court was so fascinating, and this book really inspired me to check out literary classics based on these historical figures (like the three musketeers)
