Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen
3.0
If we each pitch in a penny extra, can they afford to make an index for this book?
The beginning part about his childhood and pre-fame life is excellent. The grown-man depression and family stuff is pretty good.
The best part (as in most powerful, not nicest) is probably the part about why he doesn't like wind chimes.
But the history of his major career is just bizarre in its focuses and omissions, and also much less compellingly told.
(Dylan was really onto something in Chronicles, how he chose to go deep on episodic periods, rather than attempt a survey like this.)
