I never thought I would be reviewing a book where time travel is possible through ✨caffeine intake✨ but here we are.
This was my first 🤗Japanese author read. Honestly I need to get on that train because this story was amazing!
This book was one of the sweetest and softest reads I have ever encountered. The amount of care and dedication poured into the characters had me in awe🤌 You brilliant man Mr. Kawaguchi.
However, this book was also sad town 🥺 I cried several times. We follow 4 different people who use this cafe to time travel. The first one was probably the happiest one, and yet 👏 somehow👏 I did not like it as much as the three completely devastating ones that followed it. There is a lot of loss of loved ones here, so proceed with caution.
Beautiful but so so heart wrenching. 5/5 cups of coffee. ☕☕☕☕☕
Lessons learned,
-Appreciate the people who love you while you have them, they won’t be there forever.
- If you run into a ghost reading a book…do not bother them 😅 they will curse your ass.
- “It takes courage to say what has to be said.” We stand.
- “Seasons flow in a cycle. Life too, passes through difficult winters. But after any winter, spring will follow.” I hope my depression is listening to this audiobook too.
notes
- Kei must be protected at all costs!!!!!
- I just want to hug Kohtake 😭
- This was originally a play! Uh!
- “With the coffee in front of her, she closed her eyes, and inhaled deeply. It was her moment of happiness.” So much reading about coffee made go and get one for the first time in YEARS. After tasting it…my husband drank it. I think I’ll stick with tea. No time travel for me I guess...
