The Midnight Sea by Kat Ross
5.0
4.5 stars rounded up
There were parts of this book where I couldn't help but draw parallels with [b:Rebel of the Sands|24934065|Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands, #1)|Alwyn Hamilton|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1446829335s/24934065.jpg|44589645].
I loved the depth of characters and the magic system (Rebel of the Sands take note - this is how proper magic is done). With an engrossing story line, this book just knocked it out of the park for me.
Impatiently waiting for the second book.
