This story of a girl who finds herself in an abusive relationship is really well written, and from what I can tell feels very realistic from a psychological and emotional standpoint. However, there are also a lot of instances of underage drinking and smoking, and teens/young adults smoking pot (at a time when it was illegal across the country), as well as a fair amount of language and mentions of teens having sex, so if you're not comfortable with reading about those things you may want to pass on this one.
