I wasn't sure I was going to like this book at first, but as it went along I couldn't stop reading it. The story is so engaging and unique, it doesn't feel like anything I've read before. While the two plots were annoying at first, as the story developed and the timelines came together, I came to appreciate how the plot was laid out. The main character, Kya, goes through so much yet remains an amazingly likable character. I was heartbroken and hopeful and proud and probably felt every other emotion while reading this book. The writing made the story feel so real
I was genuinely furious with Tate when he left Kya and didn't come back to her.
This genre isn't generally one I really enjoy, but Owens does a fantastic job at writing a story anyone can enjoy. I was so anxious to find out what happens I even cheated a little and peaked at the end, that's how invested I was in the story.
