Oh boy.
I received an ARC of Goodbye Days at YALLFest, and the last night in our hotel, I cracked it open and began to read. I read all night. Fate or kismet or the universe or God or whatever you believe in must have dumped this book in my lap and shuffled it to the top of my TBR pile. I didn't even read the description before I started reading.
Goodbye Days is about the death of best friends and everything that comes after.
I read Goodbye Days on the one year anniversary of my friend's death. He died in a car accident, colliding with a semi.
It was almost too similar to bear.
But
Jeff Zentner knows what he's doing. He doesn't take any of it--this, this book, this topic--lightly. He portrays the grief and the anguish and the desperation in vivid, terrible detail.
He also adds the hope and the love and the promise of revival.
Goodbye Days is the dark and the light and everything in between.
When this book hits shelves, grab yourself a copy or two (and a box of Kleenex if you're a crier).
