A Man Lay Dead by Ngaio Marsh

3.0

Not sure what I think of Roderick Alleyn. I think using another character to introduce him was a good idea. But I couldn't quite figure him out.

The mystery itself felt a little convoluted with the subplot involving some Russian brotherhood, (which sounded like maybe its Bolsheviks but I'm not very informed on the history of that country tbh). Also....I'm not sure if any of the secret parts of that group were true. I'm like 85% sure she was making stuff up.

But I do have to say....the method of murder both made me want to laugh....but also the idea of it creeped me the hell out at the same time.

Overall...all right. But not fantastic.
