To err is human: Backman knows this and captures it perfectly here. Through some delightfully profound character work, we explore the lives of a small group of people and find pieces of us in each of them.

There are some tremendously beautiful pockets of reflection in this one and I think I’ll be returning to it multiple times in the future.

His expert handling of multiple characters is fully demonstrated here and I was just in awe as I witnessed everything unravel.

This is only my second Backman novel and I’m completely captivated by his writing.
