A perfect conclusion to the duology. These books were an absolutely wild ride and reading them in a buddy read made it even more unhinged. Some of the twists I did see coming, but I love when a book catches me off guard.
For example, I have been sus of Isadora since book one. So her betrayal not super surprising. But her death - that one caught me off guard. I also did not suspect Basil Sterlings' identity. I'd be curious if during a re-read I would notice any small details leading up to the reveal.
Overall, book two held its own and picked up right after book one. Easy to read and even easier to binge.
