Good Morning, Midnight by Jean Rhys
4.0
Good Morning, Midnight was a lovely book to read. The protagonist is telling us her story, present and past, in her own words - a sad story in which self-reflection and inequality seem to be the main themes. Little by little the narrator gives us pieces of the puzzle and by the end, her tragic story comes together and makes sense.
A book which I would recommend to others. You will find when you read it that some aspects of her life, her trauma and her road to recovery will ring true to you or to someone you may know. Even though it takes place in the 1930s.
