Wow – what a great ending to the series and one of the best books of the series. The chapters alternate between current day and the period of the first book where this time we see things through Nikolas’ point of view.

I loved the insight into Alexi’s mind and how his thought processes were during that time. He and Ben definitely had a different outlook on that time and Alexi showcased his master manipulation skills. Some of his decisions were very questionable and brutal.
I enjoyed seeing Philippa from Alexi’s point of view and how they were pretty similar (Philippa without the murderous tendencies) but you could see how they formed a great friendship. I did lose what happened at the end between them as I know Nikolas was requested to be scarce during the time and he actually was but did the present end the friendship entirely.
I liked how the Michael finally dropped the joker act with Ben and gave him a few home truths. Ben really didn’t want to know and stayed with his head in the sand throughout the series. He did put Nik on a pedestal and when seeing things from Alexi’s POV made it hard for him.
I loved the end and felt the guys had come the full circle, they have earnt their peace and now both firmly believe they belong together and deserve what they have.
