August is probably one of the female protagonist whose circumstances I related to the most out of all the books I have ever read. No, I have never fall in love with a hot girl at a magical subway car in New York (i wish) but there were other thinks about her that I felt close to my heart.

Her insecurities about feeling disconnected and behind people her age because of the amount of times of changing colleges and her consequentely inhability to keep  friendships or met new people was so incredible specific that I almost stop reading.

Her complicated relationship with her parents, and many other details like that just made me feel close to her, even though relatability has never been something that is on my list of priorities for a book, it worked for me this time. And so reading a character like her meeting quirky but lovely people in NY, a new place for her, falling in love and getting over her insecurities made me like this book more.

Now, the book is not really that focused on that. We dont really get that deep into udust psiche as I would have liked to. Its more about August and Janes relationship and the mistyery of her circumstances. Its a fun plot but simple at the end. It only got half an extra star for reading me so well lol.
