Let me just start out by saying this audiobook is 5 stars. It was so well done. Great narrator who put in some of her own effects. The story is more of a 4-star read. If I could rate a single character 5 star (Shep), I would.
My biggest issue with the book was Ethan (baby daddy). And that's why it's not five stars. The whole time I was reading this, I was thinking he's the wrong father!! I really wish it had been Shep. No one could have been more deserving. God, what a wonderful, perfect human he was.
Ethan was ridiculous. I get he had a lot to deal with, but his child should have been more important than a controlling, toxic relationship. He was so wishy washy and didn't decide to be an active participant in his child's life till the very end. It completely pissed me off. It shouldn't have taken him so long to decide if he wanted to be a parent. I kinda just wish he'd not have been involved at all.
Besides that irritation. I LOVED it. Such a sweet, slow burn romance and excellent intimacy writing. It was beautiful.
