The Devil's Advocate by Steve Cavanagh

5.0

Typically great writing from SC but with even more added layers of modern justice system problems!

It is safe to say, that I will read all the books in the Eddie Flynn series and love them! But whereas I find these books normally a bit fun (in a messed up way) with organised crime and who dunnits, this one seemed the most representative of current issues in the US justice system. Tackling issues of the death penalty, systematic racism and the prolific rise of white supremacy! Cavanagh even ended the books with real facts about current issues with the death penalty in the states.

Anyway that’s probably the most serious review I’ve ever written. Here’s what I also liked about the book:
- Return of the characters I love. I loved Eddies quest to just get a cup of coffee and Harry winding him up! And Bloch actually showing some care and support when needed.
- The case itself seemed impossible, so it was interesting seeing how they tackled that.
- The who dunnit. Trying to work out who the hell the Pastor was!!!

Can’t wait to read the next one!
