Notes on an Execution by Danya Kukafka

3.0

Like any crime drama, it's pro prison copaganda, even though it seems to be trying very hard not to be by mentioning racism and stuff sometimes. We have our cop who breaks through the glass ceiling and deals with racist mistreatment, but who is a "good" cop devoid of corruption along with her girlboss mentor type. We have a death row prisoner who is supposed to be multidimensional but seemed to still be mostly a stereotypical sociopathic killer. We have women fleeing violence but also the way it's written- bad things that happen are kinda their fault because no one is good or bad.

But, crime dramas are my anarchist guilty pleasure, I guess I could do worse. With those caveats, I was entertained and listened to it in one day.
