a slow tread through this book but we finally made it. the author is extremely weird for writing this book. a deeply, deeply troubled person. i don't understand the reviews that say this writing was exceptional when it was lukewarm at best. my biggest gripe is that the characters are wildly inconsistent and never really seem like full human beings. ironically, this book just needed to show a little life... sheesh...
