HOLY DAMN! What a rollercoaster of a book. I was already kind of expecting it, after the last book that really set us on a dangerous path, but even I couldn't imagine how dangerous the path would be and how much would really happen in this last book. From start to finish there were literally hardly any moments to catch our breath and I loved it, I loved each and every second of it.

Everything that happens in this book, politically, has been built up so amazingly well. It started slowly and subtle until it grew and grew and in this book it exploded in the most horrible way possible. There were moments making me literally sick to my stomach and quite soon I realized there was only one possible solution to get out of this mess and I was right. Was it pretty? Far from it. But in the case of political battles and children wanting to make the world a better place, it's okay.

It's amazing to see how Rory and her guys have grown into their powers and have grown into the wonderful persons they want to be. Each in their own way they have been working towards this book, where they find their own place in the world and show everyone in the fearmancer community what kind of leaders they wanna be. And they establish who they want to be to each other for the rest of their lives.

And although there is a lot of action going on, the book doesn't forget its emotional impact. There are really powerful scenes, especially from Jude and Connar, about realizing your own worth and accepting help when needed. Apart from that, I loved how Chase acknowledged that after a lot of events people would need mental help and that the character spoke so openly about it and the effect it had. You rarely see that in books and I loved it.

I really hope that Chase will return to this world and show us the lives of other characters, but the ending of this story was breathtaking and totally worth reading all those books.
