This is one I’d love to read again to solidify the details of all the stories. I was so sure I made notes about this one and I can’t for the life of me find them anywhere! So this will be an even shorter review than usual. There’s a lot of heaviness in these stories but they also feel like ones that are very thought-provoking, making you sit with them in the sometimes stillness. One of my favourites was a story about an almost meet-cute at a wedding and mistaken identity, I can’t remember the title but this really confirms that I need to reread it.

It was also very cool to learn from the author’s biography that Lok is a co-founder of Voice of Witness, an oral history nonprofit. I’ve attended a number of Columbia’s oral history workshops and one was with the author of How We Go Home, which is a Voice of Witness publication!
