I read Yours Truly as my first Abby novel, and I had no idea it was the follow-up to Part of Your World. So obviously I had to read it next! And I loved it just as much. Abby has quickly become a favorite author of mine.

I loved Alexis and the growth we saw in her. She was never a bad character by any means, but seeing her be able to step back and recognize her privilege and realize her dad’s abuse was amazing. I was so proud when she finally stood up for what she wanted and deserved.

I like the focus on abuse and how it can exist in multiple forms (mental, emotional, physical). Abby did a great job with this very heavy subject and you could tell she took great care when writing about it throughout the story.

AND DANIEL. What a fucking sweetie. He loved his town and its people so thoroughly. He would really do anything for the people he loves, and even people he doesn’t know. He is such a cinnamon roll hero.

Another win from Abby Jimenez and she’s definitely an auto-buy author from now on!
