this rating is based solely on my personal experience with this text. i am wholly unqualified to accurately assess the quality of this poetry collection—I was over ambitious about how poetry-literate I am, and i truly did not connect to a word of this. researching the author, i learned that annharte was 80 years old writing this. how incredible! her poetic approach is this aggressive deconstruction of language, resulting in this disparate, chaotic array of isolated words and sentence fragments. it might be good, i just don’t have the poetry reading skills to know that yet. maybe i will come back to it after i have spent more time with more challenging poetry. my favourite of the poems was Walk This Way So No One Notices. i also thought the intros written by the author’s granddaughter and son were very sweet.
