Last Resort by K. Bromberg

4.0

Callahan and Sutton are people who have been hurt deeply. Callahan lost both of his parents and he feels like he needs to travel and do what he wants to do in order to be free and not tied down. He doesn't want to be responsible for his family legacy. He feels that his brothers are better at it than he is. Until Sutton comes into the picture and they discover together what he really needs.

Sutton, after a one night stand, never expects to see the guy again. However, she sees him the next day as his new consultant on a project. She wants to know where he stands and is upset he didn't call her after finding out they were going to be working together. When they get to the resort things don't turn out the way they thought it would. They end up so much better.

When we first meet Callahan I thought he was a play boy, who didn't take his job seriously and that was why his brother's were upset with him. Once we get to know him we find out that is not the case at all. Sutton is working hard to get her promotion and wants to do a good job on restoring the resort. Callahan and Sutton make a great team. I really enjoyed these characters, I was glad that this story was realistic and we see their heartbreak and feel it along with them. I needed a few tissues. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to getting to know more about his two brothers.
