Despite trying to DNF, I was roped into finishing this book. So many elements feel highly contrived to drag the story out and (badly) pace out the audience receiving answers. 

I understand why people love these books, there were a ton of gasp worthy cliff hangers at the end of chapters (like, an usually high number, like all the writing was aimed at creating those vs making any sense) but it gives me a headache when Violet forgets she has a brain. 

I'm sure I've read worse books, but none so long and popular as this. But it can be a lot of fun when it isn't making me roll my eyes.
