Stress Less, Accomplish More by Emily Fletcher
2.0
Well, I’ve been meditating twice a day since I read the ~20 pages of actionable content in the middle of the book (Chapter 8, “The Z Technique”). That experience gets 5 stars! I am now looking into other schools of nondirective meditation to supplement Fletcher’s approach, for which I am not the target market.
Despite containing some very good information, this book is not a good read, and this is a review on Goodreads. The book is bogged down with doughy writing, sales pitches, and cringy appeals to craven “successful” people. I suggest not reading the book in order—dip around, and come back to sections as/if you find them interesting. Still, I am grateful to the friend who lent it to me, and that Fletcher saw fit to put this info in a book rather than a exclusively keeping it to her $$$$ courses.
