Mr. Wu? More like Mr. Ew, amiright?!
I still find Moshfegh’s writing style compelling, but the cynical and often cruel tone in this collection never pays off due to the short story format and feels purposeless. It was very much not my cup of tea, which was a tad surprising considering that I enjoyed My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Eileen, and especially Death in Her Hands.
