Master of Me: A Memoir by Keke Palmer
5.0
"The struggle isn't with self-acceptance but with the discomfort others project onto us. We absorb their insecurities and stereotypes, making it hard to see our own worth. It's not that we don't like ourselves, but we're constantly bombarded with messages telling us we're not enough or that our value lies in meeting certain standards. The problem isn't that you are short or tall or black or white or light or dark or whatever! The problem lies in social constructs and how what's of value fluctuates."
I love me some Keke Palmer and I needed this to help me reset, and think about what it is that I want to go for. It's not your typical memoir format, but I do love the fact that after each part, there are reflective questions for you to answer.
